What could possibly be the final instalment for the Souls series gets a trailer showcasing everything Dark Souls III has to offer.
Dark Souls III and its accompanying DLC, we have been told, are the final pieces to this legendary franchise. Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition houses the base game plus both DLCs, Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City. The trailer has an air of finality to it, from the chosen scenes to the music. Nothing new has been added to this collection not found in the base game. Dark Souls III was a fan service and an ode to the franchise. Players who never picked this game up should definitely get this copy. This trailer encompasses the atmosphere and mood of Dark Souls wonderfully, but it still sad to see it go.
Only time will tell if the so-called Soulsborne series is truly dead. Whether it continues or not, it will surely stand the test of time as a lesson in game design. A memorable series, for good or for bad, across the board. For now, though, From Software invites you back to Lothric for one last charge. Seek the Lords of Cinder, find the First Flame. Experience what is a truly great swan song, to a truly inspirational franchise.
