Is Guitar Hero making a comeback?

Guitar Hero

It’s been announced this week that the much-loved franchise Guitar Hero is making a revival.

Kotaku have reported, allegedly from two sources, that the new iteration of Guitar Hero will be announced at this year’s E3. Not much else is known about the release, lest alone who will be developing the game since previous developers RedOctane and NeverSoft are since defunct.

A representative for publisher Activision has stated: “We don’t comment on rumour or speculation, but have previously said, that as one of the most beloved entertainment franchises, we would only bring Guitar Hero back if we developed the right innovations to usher the franchise into the new generation of gaming”.

The last Guitar Hero game was almost five years ago now, being Warriors of Rock released in 2010. We’ve long since expected a revival of the popular party game franchise, and so will be waiting with bated breath for an announcement at E3.
