PS3 and Xbox 360 Games With Easy Platinums/1000G

We’re not ashamed to admit it – we are fully fledged trophy whores.

Between Rich and I, we have no less than 87 platinums. Yes, we’ve got a problem. But that’s not going to change any time soon, so come and join us in the satisfying quest for trophy glory! Here’s our list of the Top 10 easy platinum trophies we’ve achieved so far. . .

1Cabela’s Adventure Camp

Cabela’s Adventure Camp is a series of fun little mini-games. Playing in co-op, it took no more than two hours to unlock the platinum trophy. There’s only 23 trophies, but on PlayStation they’re all silver and gold! It’s actually a very fun little game, but you need PS Move or Kinect for this one.

Time to complete: 2-3 hours | Fun rating: Wholesome fun! Buy on Amazon

2Puss in Boots

The game companion to the movie, Puss in Boots is a fun on-rails game involving various activities. Some of the achievements need you to get “perfect” results in certain mini-games, but none of them are particularly difficult. There’s also a few “collectibles” along the way. This one will take between 2-5 hours to complete, depending on your luck/skill with the challenges.

Time to complete: 2-5 hours | Fun rating: Entertaining! | Buy from Amazon

3NCIS

Perhaps if you’re a die-hard NCIS fan, this one might interest you a little more, but not being fans of the show, it wasn’t the most exciting game we’ve ever played, to say the least. But, trophy-wise, this is one of the easiest. You’ve just got to complete the game, simple as. No achievements are missable, and unless you’re eager to savour your time with the NCIS crew, you can whizz through this in around 2 hours.

Time to complete: 90 minutes-4 hours | Fun rating: Snoozefest | Buy from Amazon

4Telltale’s The Walking Dead

Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead was an award winner, but we liked it best for its trophies! All the achievements are yours just by finishing the game. It’s an enjoyable experience, but it takes 15-20 hours to complete, so it’s not the quickest platinum you’ll ever get. The best news is, on PlayStation at least, every format has a separate trophy list, so beat it on PS3, PS4 and Vita, and that’s three platinum trophies in the bag. Cha-ching!

Time to complete: 15-20 hours | Fun rating: Slow-paced but gripping | Buy from Amazon

5Hannah Montana

The embarrassing branding of any gamer afflicted with trophy whoreism: Hannah Montana: The Game on their trophy list. Yes, we’ve all had the internal debate with ourselves and felt the shame, but in the end, an easy platinum within 3-4 hours won us over. The game isn’t actually that awful to play either. There’s some rhythm-based mini games in there, a bit of horse-riding and some fairground games. There’s worse ways to kill 3 hours.

Time to complete: 3-4 hours | Fun rating: Shameful, but somehow entertaining | Buy from Amazon

6Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania is another that requires PlayStation Move or Xbox Kinect to play, but it’s actually quite good fun. Reminiscent of the classic Point Blank from the 90s, it’s a series of mini games, most of which require you to shoot targets of various descriptions. It’s easier with two players, but you can always sign in a second pad and leave it sat idle.

Time to complete: 3-5 hours | Fun rating: Rootin’ tootin’ good fun | Buy from Amazon

7Megamind

Megamind Ultimate Showdown isn’t the best game you’ll ever play, but it has a certain charm to it. It’s a basic platform game, so there’s nothing too complicated. You’ll unlock all achievements after playing through each level, getting a few collectibles and beating some bosses without dying (much easier than it sounds. Even I managed to do this without resorting to swearing at the TV, and that’s saying something).

Time to complete: 2-4 hours | Fun rating: Tolerable | Buy from Amazon

8Wonderbook: Book of Spells

This is possibly the quickest platinum I’ve ever got – it took about 90 minutes. The downside is you have to sit on the floor with your ultra-cool Wonderbook, waving around your PS Move like you’re having some kind of seizure. You do need to have a PS Move and camera, but you can get the book and game bundle for less than a fiver on Amazon. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ll find this one much easier to stomach, but if not, you’ll at least find hilarity in how ridiculous you look.

Time to complete: 90 minutes-3 hours Fun rating: “Riddikulus”, but entertaining | Buy from Amazon

9The Smurfs 2

The Smurfs 2 is another movie tie-in game. This one isn’t bad at all – it’s a classic side-scrolling platform game. You need some collectibles for the platinum, as well as using each character’s abilities a number of times, but none of these are particularly taxing to do. You’ll have to beat each boss without being hit too, which may take a few attempts, but you can still have all the achievements unlocked in the course of an afternoon.

Time to complete: 4-7 hours | Fun rating: Good plaforming fun | Buy from Amazon

10Sega Mega Drive Collection (PS3/Xbox 360)

Here’s one to feed your nostalgia. A collection of 40-odd classics from the age of the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis, if you’re across the Atlantic). There’s a separate achievement for each of the games in the collection. Some you’ll get within 10 seconds of starting the game… others require a bit more work (and frustration) but overall there’s nothing too taxing – and the trip down memory lane outweighs the challenge.

Time to complete: 8-12 hours | Fun rating: Nostalgic heaven | Buy from Amazon
