2. Raging Justice
Coming soon to PC and Xbox One, MakinGames‘ Raging Justice is a must play for any fan of old-school side-scrolling beat ’em up games. Strongly channelling the spirit of Streets of Rage 2, Raging Justice somehow manages to successfully amalgamate both old and new to create a brawler that we just can’t wait to get down ‘n’ dirty with.
The game features both single player and co-op modes spread over a variety of locations, each as delightfully gritty as the next. Fancy pummeling your foes in a run down carnival? Or how about a more traditional bar brawl? The environments are interactive too, so make use of those traffic cones and bar stools to kick some ass.
1. Headlander
Coming from Adult Swim Games and Double Fine, you know already you’re going to be in for something special. In Headlander you play as… a head. A disembodied head, tasked with the mission of escaping from a doomed spacecraft. Your head can fly around by itself, or you can dock onto other headless bodies should you need to use arms and legs. And hey, if a body is not headless? Just suck off its head with your suck power.
A side-scrolling puzzle-platformer, Headlander‘s unique selling point is without a doubt its on-point humour. The demo of the game that we got to try out offered fully-voiced narration chock full of wit that had us laughing out loud. The full game will be (head)landing on PC and PS4 at some point later this year.
