Hard drives and broadband bandwidth at the ready Xbox One owners, as EA has graciously announced that EA Access will be free for all Xbox Live Gold members between 12-22 June, 2016. All they have to do is download the EA Access app via the Xbox One dashboard and they’re all set for 10 sweet days of free gameplay.
The service, which offers a vault of EA published games including Battlefield 4 Premium, Dragon Age: Inquisition and most recently Rory McIlroy PGA Tour that can be played as much as you want on a £3.99/$4.99 monthly or £19.99/$29.99 annual subscription basis, is quite a lucrative deal for Xbox One owners, even netting them a 10% discount on EA games and DLC as well as early 10 hour trials on many new releases. Sony blocked the service being made available to PlayStation 4 users, stating that “it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect”. Ahem.
Whilst all games downloaded as part of the promotion will no longer be playable after 22nd June, those who decide to subscribe to the EA Access service or buy the games they downloaded at a later date will be able to continue playing from where they left off. Very handy! May as well make use of the free time while you can, huh?
