Surprise announced during E3, Inside, the long-awaited follow-up to Limbo is finally been released today on Xbox One and next week on PC.
Inside was first teased all the way back in 2012, classified simply as “Project 2” by Playdead, those talented fellows behind indie hit Limbo. We’ve then had four years of relative silence before it was sprang on us just a few weeks ago that actually, it’s coming out – and it’s coming out soon.
That soon is today: Inside is available to download today on Xbox One, and will be available on PC on 7 July for £14.99/$19.99.
Playdead’s own description of Inside is about as vague as they come: “Hunted and alone, a boy finds himself drawn into the center of a dark project”. Still, we couldn’t be more intrigued. With the legacy of Limbo behind them, we expect more of the same great platforming – although this time, the theme may be even darker, if the “18” certification is anything to go by.
