Earlier this year, Nordic Games re-released Darksiders II in a “Deathinitive” Edition on current gen consolse. Perhaps a little backwards, now the original Darksiders is following in its footsteps, with a Warmastered Edition scheduled to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U and PC on 25 October.
The Warmastered Edition is being developed by the same team who worked on Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, KAIKO. Lots of work is going into the port,k including native 1080p resolution for consoles, 4k support on PC, all texture resolutions have been doubled, and improved shadows and post-processing effects.
In case you’re not familiar with Darksiders, it’s an action RPG where you play as War, the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, struck in a war between Heaven and Hell. Typical RPG style, Darksiders is full of exploration and combat, with plenty of character upgrades to unlock, puzzles to solve and characters to meet along the way.
More details about the re-release of Darksiders, including some comparison screenshots, will be released next week.
Darksiders Warmastered Edition will be available from 25 October and will retail for £14.99/$19.99.
