Two New Sonic Games Announced for 2017

Everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog is making a comeback in 2017. Twice.

That’s right, Sega have just announced two new Sonic games coming in 2017. First is Sonic Mania, arriving in Spring 2017, and second is the as-yet-untitled “Project Sonic 2017”, slated for Holiday 2017.

Sonic Mania is a throwback to classic Sonic; a celebration of everything we’ve loved about Sonic, Tails and Knuckles since the early 1990s. With a clean but retro style, this looks to be the ultimate title for everyone who loved Sonic back in his early days.

Project Sonic 2017, on the other hand, looks entirely new, from the team that created Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. The trailer is very vague, but shows Sonic in a very dark world – much unlike the bright environments we’re used to seeing him in.

Sonic Mania is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, whilst Project Sonic 2017 is also set to release on Nintendo’s next console, codenamed NX.
