New LEGO Dimensions Sets Now Available

Since LEGO Dimensions was first released last year, Warner Bros. has continued to support it with a wealth of new fun packs, team packs and levels being released periodically. This week, six new sets have become available – and they’re all brilliant.

Along with the Level Packs that we’re used to seeing, this month’s new wave also includes the first Story Pack. Based on the new Ghostbusters movie, the Story Pack includes a minifigure (of Abby Yates) and an Ecto-1 vehicle, as well as a Ghostbusters-themed building to replace the existing portal on the LEGO base. The Story Pack allows you to play through the complete movie, made up of six full levels. Ghostbusters is the first, with a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them story back to follow in November. We’ll have a full review of the Ghostbusters Story Pack coming soon!

That leaves five more new LEGO Dimensions packs that are now available. With a pretty broad – and somewhat surprising – range of themes, no matter your taste (or age), at least one of these is bound to appeal to you.

There are two new Adventure Time packs – a Team Pack and a Level Pack. The Level Pack contains a Finn the Human minifigure, the Jakemobile and an Ancient War Elephant vehicle, as well as access to a brand new level: “Battle evil in the land of Ooo!”. The Team Pack contains Jake the Dog and Lumpy Space Princess minifigs, along with the Lumpy Car and BMO. Of course, both packs provide access to the Adventure Time-themed adventure world, an open-world play zone filled with golden bricks to collect and dozens of side quests to complete.

The other new Level Pack available is Mission: Impossible. Sure, it’s a strange choice – but a very welcome one. The new level included is entitled “Your mission, should you choose to accept it…” and features an Ethan Hunt minifigure (who looks eerily like Tom Cruise), an IMF sports car and an IMF Scrambler motorcycle.

The next bizarre choice – but perhaps one of the most eagerly awaited – is an A-Team fun pack complete with no other than B. A. Baracus (also known as Mr. T). It also includes B.A.’s iconic van.

Last but not least is a Harry Potter themed Team Pack. With LEGO Harry Potter being in existence for several years now, this one has been a long time coming. The set includes Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort minifigs, as well as Ron and Harry’s enchanted car (from Chamber of Secrets) and the Hogwart’s Express train.

Every pack also includes access to that theme’s Adventure World, as well as the brand new Battle Arena. Designed for multiplayer fun, the arena has several modes – Capture the Flag, Objective, Base Bash and Tick, Tag, Boom!. There are several configurations available such as 2 v 2 or 3 v 1 to create the ideal match type where only one minifig may reign victorious! A single player mode is also available against the AI.
