Skyrim Special Edition Seemingly Doesn’t Disappoint

So The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is released today, and, whilst it will take us a while to give you our definitive review, our initial impressions of the Xbox One version are that it’s rather good.

Sure, the visuals still aren’t going to blow your socks off, but they have been dramatically improved, with sharper textures, enhanced lighting and a healthy dose of anti-aliasing presenting a solid image that’s pleasing to the eye. More importantly, the framerate seems to be consistently smooth, making it a much more enjoyable experience compared to its original release on PS3 and Xbox 360.

We haven’t encountered any bugs yet either, which is sure to put some minds at ease, but rest assured we shall continue to put the hours in and let you know of any issues that may arise. For now though, if you’re really itching to pick up the Skyrim Special Edition¬†we don’t see any reason why not to, but if you can wait just that bit longer we’ll have a more in-depth analysis of the game sometime in the next week.
