Somehow, there are people out there that haven’t played Skyrim yet. I know, it’s ridiculous, isn’t it? With the release of the remastered special edition on PC and current generation consoles, however, there’s no better time to jump into its harsh yet scarily addictive world.
Like doing anything new though, it can be daunting to dive in headfirst without some hearty advice, so let us help. Absorb our Skyrim tips for noobs, and prepare yourself for the perilous journey ahead. It may just save you some time and turmoil.
1. Read books!
Well, you don’t actually have to read them if you don’t want to, but at least click on the majority of books you come across on your travels to see if they offer you anything useful. Some books will give you quests, whilst others will boost your skills or put points of interest on your map. Either way, you win.
2. Use fast travel
Skyrim is a big place. Really big, in fact. Whilst it would be admirable of you to actually walk or ride everywhere it would probably get a bit tedious, especially when you just want to move between locations to get your gear in order or complete a few piddly side quests. The answer? Make good use of the fast travel feature to warp to locations you’ve already visited. Sure you may miss out on the odd random encounter in the open world, but it’ll save you a load of time and hassle in the long run.
