Let's face it, Forza Motorsport 7 was about as inevitable as the sun setting at the end of the day, and it'll surely be released sometime towards the end of next year too. What is news though, is that Fanatec CEO, Thomas Jackermeier, cites that many improvements will be made with regards to steering wheel support, including physics and force feedback.
Posting on the Fanatec forums, Jackermeier asked players to “Please tell me any wheel/pedal/shifter related issues you have in FM6 and let us know what new features you would like to see supported in FM7.” Of course, Forza fans were only too happy to oblige, expressing the myriad of improvements they'd like to see implemented.
Jackermeier is obviously unable to confirm exactly what improvements will be made at this point, but he did stress that "There is a new person who is responsible for physics and force feedback and this is a “wheel guy”. He is a real world racer with car engineering background and very familiar with PC simracing."
With all Forza titles now releasing on PC as well as Xbox One, it makes sense for Turn 10 to make a push for improved steering wheel support. Improved physics will also be greatly appreciated by the majority of Forza fans who feel that the series is still playing catch-up with Gran Turismo in that regard.
As massive fans of the Forza series, we'll be keeping a keen eye out for for any further developments and will of course keep you informed. Until then, keep racing Forza fans!
