Dragon Quest VIII Arrives on Nintendo 3DS After 13 Years

It originally launched on PlayStation 2 back in 2004. Now, some 13 years later, you can pick up Dragon Quest VIII on your 3DS.

While I’m sure we’d all prefer a brand new Dragon Quest game, VIII was the first to see a Western release (it landed in the US in 2005, and 2006 in the UK). It was probably the first Dragon Quest game a lot of you played, so getting to revisit it on the comfort of the 3DS is surely a great nostalgic fix.

That, and it was an awesome game – sweeping a lot of 9s and 10/10s when it was first released last decade.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is available now on 3DS. Check out the launch trailer below:

Editor in chief // Kim's been into video games since playing Dizzy on her brother's Commodore 64 as a nipper. She'll give just about anything a go, but she's got a particular soft spot for indie adventures. If she's not gaming, she'll be building Lego, reading a thriller, watching something spooky or... asleep. She does love to sleep.
