Steam’s December hardware survey is up, and, amongst other tidbits of information, it surprisingly shows that 50.35% of users now operate Windows 10.
Released to consumers on 29th July 2015, Windows 10 will have undoubtedly been jumped upon by many users thanks to the free upgrade offered to those using Windows 7 and 8.1, but still, after all the negative press surrounding the OS and the perceived rise of Apple, a shade over 50% seems pretty impressive.
The survey also shows just over 33% of Steam users are clinging on to Windows 7 for dear life, and for some reason 10% are still using Windows 8 (just why?).
Moving away from operating systems, Intel is the chosen processor brand for nearly 80% of Steam users, and more than half are using Nvidia graphics cards too, with the GTX 970 being the most popular choice.
Have a look at the Steam’s hardware and software survey yourself to see how your rig compares to other users’, or simply to surprise yourself with the information on offer. Remember though, that participation in survey is optional, so results are not 100% accurate.
