Both Marvel and Square Enix were building up to an announcement today – revealed as the so-called ‘Avengers Project’. The deal is the beginning of a multi-game partnership between the two, with its first game being headed up by Tomb Raider developer, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos Montreal – the studio behind the Deus Ex reboot titles.
With the tagline ‘Reassemble’ and a short teaser showing a rather broken group of Avengers, it’s not too difficult to guess the circumstances of the first title. Past that, we don’t know too much else on, what is likely to become, one of the biggest franchises around – Marvel just need to conquer the book world next.
Of course, this runs in tandem with Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy, set to begin releasing later this year – presumably once The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is finished.
It’s still early days however – so don’t expect this new announcement to come to fruition until at least 2018. In the meantime, watch the teaser below.
