April saw the release of Persona 5, Yooka-Laylee, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, LEGO City Undercover, and a whole load of other wonderful games. It also saw the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch.
Despite being released on 28th April with only three days of the month left to go, Mario Kart was April’s best-selling title in the UK, out-performing the month’s other new releases by a pretty hefty amount
That’s some good going, especially considering the fairly limited userbase of the Switch (thanks to units still not being widely available in a lot of areas). It goes to show, though, that most people with a Switch are committed to using them, and are keen to buy the latest games for the console.
For comparison, Persona 5 was the seventh best-selling game of April 2017, and LEGO City Undercover made number 13 in the the charts. The majority of the top 10 was made up of older games including GTA 5 and Fifa 17.
