Raiders of the Broken Planet Gets New Trailer, Closed Beta Tests Start This Weekend

I loved MercurySteam’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. I even quite liked its inferior sequel. That is why my interest is piqued by their next title, Raiders of the Broken Planet.

Due for release later this year, Raiders of the Broken Planet is set to offer unique co-operative/competitive asymmetrical play, with you able to join a team of Raiders or lead a computer-controlled army to fight against them. More intriguingly, it’s a cover shooter, but it’s also focussed on you getting your hands dirty with melee combat when you’re up close and personal. Oh, and the icing on the cake for players like me is that it’s heavily story driven and completely playable as a single-player experience. Sometimes, I just don’t want to be sociable when I’m gaming, y’know?

Anyway, check out the new trailer that’s been released to get a taste of the action:

If the trailer leaves you wanting more, closed beta tests will be starting this weekend on PC, PS4 and Xbox One which you can sign up for here. Alternatively, if you just want more information about Raiders of the Broken Planet, you can visit the game’s website. I know I’m certainly going to be keeping a keen eye on this one.
