Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Gets E3 Trailer

Bloodstained Header

The 2D Castlevania games may be dead in the water right now, but thanks to Koji Igarashi, their spirit is set to live on via Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Set for release sometime next year on a whole host of platforms including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the spiritual successor to the likes of Symphony of the Night and Order of Ecclesia. And for that reason, we’re pretty excited about it.

Putting you in control of cursed orphan named Miriam, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has you exploring a demon-filled castle in the hope of finding its summoner, who has suffered from the same affliction for a long period of time. Thankfully you have plenty of skills and weapons up your sleeves to deal with anything that stands in your way.

While Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night‘s gameplay is stuck in 2D, it’s actually rendered in 3D allowing for some pretty nifty visual effects. Don’t just take my word for it though, watch the newly released E3 trailer below and see for yourself. I’m sure any Castlevania: Symphony of the Night fan will be impressed.
