2. Jetpack Joyride
I’m a massive fan of endless runners, and Jetpack Joyride has to be up there with the best of ’em. Playing as the now rather legendary Barry Steakfries, you find yourself needing to escape from a science lab (or something…) with only the help of the jetpack on your back.
You can run along the ground if you want, but in order to dodge an onslaught of obstacles, you’ll need to boost upwards with your jetpack. There’s a tonne of collectibles and coins to pick up on the way, as well as pretty awesome power-ups – a giant robotic dog, anyone? How about a Chinese dragon?
1. Sonic Dash
Did I mention I love endless runners? I also really love that famous blue hedgehog. Sonic Dash combines the two of ’em together, and it’s utterly glorious. In fact, Sonic Dash is probably one of the best 3D Sonic games to ever be made (so far at least; Sonic Forces, we’re looking at you), and to say that about a mobile game… well, I’m just as surprised as you. But it is truly brilliant.
It’s very simple: taking control of Sonic, you run through a number of different zones, collecting coins and avoiding obstacles as you go, trying to gather the highest score you can. There’s even a number of bosses along the way, including Dr. Robotnik. The amount of hours I’ve sank into this little game… I don’t even want to think about it.
