Good old Good Old Games. The PC games retailer is currently giving away Deadlight: Director’s Cut. For free. No catch involved.
For a limited time only, you can log into GOG.com and get Deadlight absolutely free. If you’ve never used GOG before, it gives you a DRM-free version of the game, meaning you don’t need to rely on a client like Steam to run it.
Rich reviewed Deadlight: Director’s Cut back in 2016, saying that:
“It may be far from perfect, but Deadlight: Director’s Cut does have enough going for it to at least make it an interesting proposition for fans of the now rather niche genre. [It’s] commendable for the melancholic sense of dread that is skilfully created by its audio-visual design and notion that your journey truly is one of survival.”
Perfect or not, it’s worth giving a go for free, right?
GOG is also currently running a ‘Pinata’ promotion, where $3 – approximately £2.30 – will get you one random game valued somewhere between $6 and $45. If you fancy a bit of a gamble, try your luck. I’ve just given it a go, and ended up with Grim Fandango Remastered, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, Anno 1404 and Spellforce Platinum. Not bad, but I must resist buying more…
