With how popular FromSoftware’s Dark Souls series has become, it was only a matter of time until something that looked like a total rip-off of it appeared. Well, it would appear that that time is now. Enter Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption.
Set for release in Q2 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption looks like what you’d get if you took Dark Souls and tried to somehow make it cute. Take a look for yourself. Watch the announcement trailer below.
See what I mean? It still looks rather dark, and the combat still appears to rely on skill and timing, but it has a cuteness to it that I have to admit is a little appealing.
The developers of Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption, Dark Star, claim that the finished product will feature a horde of bosses based around the protagonist’s sins, a unique “level-down” system where you sacrifice strength and stats to battle sins incarnate, and multiple endings. It all sounds rather interesting, but I’m not convinced just yet. Rest assured, however, that Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is a title that I will be keeping my eyes on.
