Released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the same day that Assassin’s Creed Unity was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Assassin’s Creed Rogue was most definitely the better game of the two.
Letting you play as a Templar rather than an Assassin for a change (although the gameplay remained exactly the same), it felt like an expansion to the fantastic Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag rather than en entirely new game, but a bloody good one at that.
If you’re an Xbox One owner you’ve been able to play an old Xbox 360 copy for a while now thanks to backwards compatibility, but it’s looking likely that sometime next year both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners will be able to play a remastered version on their favourite consoles.
Twitter user @AccessTheAnimus discovered that no less than three Italian retailers have listings for the as-yet unannounced Assassin’s Creed Rogue HD, with multiple of them indicating that the title will be released in March.
This should be taken with a grain of salt but, should it prove to be true, would you be interested in it? pic.twitter.com/7L6jSHQhgP

It seems strange to wait until now to remaster it, but with Assassin’s Creed Origins doing so well maybe it’s a move to capitalise on its momentum. In any case, it’s a great game, so we’re happy more people may get the chance to play it. Hopefully an official announcement will be made soon.
