It’s only been, oh, seven months since it released on other formats, but Battle Chasers: Nightwar is finally available on Switch.
If you’ve been holding out to play it on your favourite handheld console, then your wait is finally over. Airship Syndicate’s stylish RPG is now available to buy digitally and physically on Nintendo Switch. It retails at £34.99/£39.99.
If you’ve already played the PS4, Xbox One or PC release, however, don’t expect to find anything new in the Switch release. This is the same game; there are no extra bells and whistles. But if you’ve been desperate to play Battle Chasers: Nightwar on the move, well, hey, today’s your lucky day.
I reviewed Battle Chasers: Nightwar back in October when it released on Xbox One. I liked it, scoring it a respectable 7/10, but lamented its infuriating difficulty spikes:
“Unless you have a lot of patience, you’ll likely run out of steam for Nightwar after six or eight hours. It’s a shame, because everything else about the game is wonderful – its art is gorgeous, the act of combat itself is tense and enjoyable, and the story is engaging. Airship Syndicate has almost created something very special with Battle Chasers: Nightwar’s overall package. But those difficulty spikes are just too unforgiving, and there’s only so many times you can be completely obliterated by the same set of enemies before you have to throw in the towel.”
