If adventure games float your boat, you might be happy to hear that Legend of Kay Anniversary is now available on Nintendo Switch.
A classic from the PlayStation 2 era remastered to bring it more up to date, Legend of Kay Anniversary was originally released on a variety of consoles nearly three years ago now. We reviewed the PlayStation 4 version at that point in fact, awarding it a worthy 6/10.
Nothing has seemingly changed between now and then, which means that while the Switch version of Legend of Kay Anniversary won’t blow you away, it will provide a long-lasting adventure that’s enjoyable for the most part. Occasionally frustrating combat, a troublesome camera and some dire voice acting will bring the experience down at points though. It has also got some unusual language for a game that seems like it’s aimed at kids.
Legend of Kay Anniversary‘s gameplay involves plenty of platforming, puzzle solving and combat, making it a title of interest for those who have exhausted the likes of The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild. Visually it looks quite nice on the Switch’s small screen, and performance seems solid from what I’ve played of the title. Suffice to say, it’s worth checking out if you have an adventure game itch that needs to be scratched.
