How to Beat Sliding Slab Shuffle in 4 Touches in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Some of the toughest levels in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker involve lots of tapping.

Usually, my strategy for the tapping levels is to experiment in order to see how each platform moves before deciding how to proceed from there. I had a particularly tough time with level 7 of episode two: Sliding Slab Shuffle. Not the regular level on its own, but the optional objective.

For the optional objective, the player must use only four taps to complete the level. For me, this was trickier than I thought, but after about 8 million tries, I figured it out. Here’s how to complete that additional objective in Sliding Slab Shuffle.

Sliding Slab Shuffle: Eight millionth time’s a charm

When you first begin the level, you’ll notice three platforms that are able to be tapped. It seems as though you’ll need to tap the bottom platform in order to get across, but instead simply walk up the platform.

Tilt the left control stick down when you reach the top of the platform, and Toadette will hop right over to the other side. Then make your way all the way to the left side of the screen where you’ll see an open doorway to the other side of the level.

When you’ve moved your camera to show the other side of the level you’ll see three tap-able platforms once again. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Tap the bottom platform to move it away from the wall then tap the middle platform to move it into the wall.
  • Walk to the left across the platform, tap the middle platform again to move it away from the wall so that you’re able to climb it.
  • When you’re at the top tap that middle platform (the one you should be currently standing on) once more for the fourth and final tap.
  • Dodge the bullet bills, walk across the platform, and grab the shiny star!

I hope this was a nice helpful guide for those of you that might be stuck on this Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker’s Sliding Slab Shuffle level. It definitely took me more tries then it probably should have. I recommend doing the level the first time around to orient yourself with how the platforms move before trying for the optional objective. Follow these instructions step-by-step and you’ll be getting that satisfying check mark in your episode 2 book in no time!

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
