Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse is Coming to Switch

Broken Sword 5

I’m always excited when Broken Sword news lands. A new game? The original games being ported to console? Not quite – but this is good news for Switch owners: Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse is coming to Nintendo Switch.

The latest in George and Nico’s adventure first landed on PC and PS Vita (remember that?) back in 2013, before being ported to Xbox One and PS4 in 2015. Sporting hand-drawn 2D animation, The Serpent’s Curse sports the visual style that made The Shadow of the Templars so magical back in the 90s. And while it’s not got quite the same charm, it is still the same George and Nico we’ve grown up with.

Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse is landing on Nintendo’s hybrid handheld console on 21st September. Retailing at £25, it’ll also include a series of brand new behind-the-scenes videos as well as an “innovative new user interface”. Presumably, it’ll have been tweaked a little to make use of the Switch’s touchscreen capabilities.

So while it’s not quite as exciting as a Broken Sword 6 announcement, or news of Shadow of the Templars making its way to Xbox One and PS4, we’ll take it. We’re always happy for an excuse to visit with George Stobbart again, and we have no doubt that Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse will be right at home on Nintendo Switch. Make sure you grab it on the eShop on September 21st.

If she's not gaming, she'll be building Lego, reading a thriller, watching something spooky or... asleep. She does love to sleep.
