Today, Ubisoft has outlined its post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Honestly, there’s more post-launch content planned for the game than I’ve ever seen before. There’s going to be free episodic story content, weekly and daily in-game events, and of course, a season pass. It’s what’s included in the season pass that’s most surprising though.
Alongside two large story expansions that will be delivered episodically, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey season pass will include a remastered version of Assassin’s Creed 3. And the remastered version of Assassin’s Creed 3 will include a remastered version of Assassin’s Creed Liberation. It’s like an Assassin’s Creed Russian doll.
Both Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered and Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered will feature 4K and HDR support on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and PC. They’ll also feature higher resolution textures and other graphical enhancements, because they’ll be running on a new graphics engine. It is stated that gameplay mechanics and ergonomics have also been improved.
But don’t worry, you won’t need to buy the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey season pass to get Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered; you’ll also be able to buy it separately. Though there’s no indication of when it will be available or how much it will cost as yet.
Set for release on 5th October on PS4, Xbox One and PC, there’ll be many different versions of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey available at launch. The game’s season pass will be included in the Gold, Ultimate, Spartan, and Pantheon editions, and will also be available separately. Those who preorder the Gold, Collectors or Ultimate edition of the game will also get three days early access to the game, allowing them to start playing on the 2nd October.
