If you want to increase the amount of resources and ammo that you can carry in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you’re going to need money.
Unlike earlier games in the series, you don’t just unlock or craft all of your upgrades. Now, you need to buy many of them from merchants. You can buy many weapons and outfits from merchants too, allowing you to kit yourself out as you please. It’s all just matter of being able to afford it.
There are many ways to get money in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Taking it from the bodies of soldiers you’ve defeated is one way, but you won’t get a great amount by doing so. The best way to make money is by selling pieces of gold and jade that you’ve found on your adventures.
Gold and jade can be found in lots of places, but you’re most likely to acquire it in challenge tombs and crypts. On lower difficulties, you can use your survival instincts to highlight it. You can often also find gold ore in walls while out exploring; simply walk up to a vein and hammer the appropriate button to mine it with your pickaxe.
Just be aware that you can only carry so much gold and jade at one time. Make a habit of selling any that you have when you’re near a merchant. It’s also worth keeping an eye on any other resources that you’re carrying. Things like wood and black powder are frequently found on your travels, so if you’re close to your maximum carrying limit, consider selling some for a bit of extra money. You’ll be rich in no time.
