Set in a massive and beautiful recreation of New York City, Marvel’s Spider-Man is a game that you can’t help but want to take photos of.
Thankfully, Insomniac Games has included a pretty advanced photo mode into the game that lets you take photos of Spider-Man’s antics at any time. The question is: how do you do it? Here’s how to access Spider-Man’s photo mode.
Not the in-game camera
Firstly, don’t confuse the in-game photo mode with Spider-Man’s camera in the game. A few hours into the story, you’ll be given the ability to take photos of landmarks, and you’ll also need to take photos for some missions. To use this camera, all you need to do is press ‘up’ on the d-pad to equip it. L2 lets you see through the viewfinder, and R1 takes the photo. But this isn’t photo mode. You cannot view an album of the photos Spider-Man has taken anywhere.
To take your own photos, you need to head to the game’s main menu. Hit the ‘options’ button to pause, and from there, select ‘photo mode’. You’ll now have full control over the camera to take a photo of Spidey and the surrounding New York City however you see fit.
How to save photos in Spider-Man
After you’ve finished playing around with the settings in Spider-Man’s photo mode, you’ll want to save your piece of art. There’s no save button; instead, click the “remove UI” option, which gives you a nice, clean view of the image you’ve created. You can then use the ‘share’ button on your PlayStation controller to save or share the photo with your consoles built-in share functions, or equivalent if playing on PC.
With so much to see and do in Marvel’s Spider-Man, you’ll find it hard to put the camera down. Have fun taking snaps!
