It’s not quite a new Borderlands game, but there’ll soon be a new way to explore Pandora: Borderlands 2 is getting the virtual reality treatment.
From 14th December, Borderlands 2 VR will be available on PSVR. Four playable classes will be available – Gunzerker, Assassin, Siren and Commando – and the game will be single player only, but it’s not made clear whether Borderlands 2 VR will otherwise be a cut-down version of the game or will include all other content.
The VR version, however, does have some tailor-made improvements to make it a more immersive experience.
A new feature called BAMF Time – that’s “Bad Ass Mega Fun Time”, of course – will be added to the game that lets players slow down the game around them while they line up their next attack. Very Matrix-y. And, presumably to reduce the likelihood of motion sickness, you’ll be able to teleport around Pandora, as well as “glide” across areas as Claptrap. You just better hope you don’t come across any steps.
You’ll also be able to drive around Pandora in a Catch-a-Ride vehicle using a first-person view – steering with your controls and aiming your weapons by looking around in the PSVR headset. Menus have also been tweaked to make them easier to navigate.
