Part of the joy of playing Starlink: Battle for Atlas is in being able to swap out your ship whenever you want. Here’s how you do it.
If you’re playing Starlink as it’s intended, with physical toy ships, then changing your ship is easy. Well, providing you have more than one ship. Simply remove the one that’s attached to your controller, and slot on another in its place.
But if you’re playing the game digitally – or have purchased additional ships as DLC – changing your ship means going through a few menus.
- First off, head to the game’s main menu.
- From there, use your shoulder buttons to navigate to ‘Loadout’.
- Press ‘A’ (or ‘X’ on PlayStation) to change loadout, then press ‘A’ again to change your ship.
- You’ll now be presented with a screen with all your available ships. Move to the one that you want to use, and press ‘A’ (‘Link’) to select the ship.
Your current pilot and weapons will move over to the new ship with you, but any ship mods that you have equipped will stay on that ship. You’ll need to equip new mods to your newly-selected ship.
It’s useful to keep each ship in your inventory stocked with decent mods, so if you need to change ships in the heat of battle you don’t need to spend time fiddling with mods.
Have fun travelling Starlink‘s impressive galaxy!
