In an unexpected move, Square Enix has announced that it plans to no longer go ahead with a number of DLC episodes previously announced for Final Fantasy XV.
Following the release of Episode Ardyn next year, development on the game will cease, meaning that the DLC episodes featuring Aranea, Lunafreya and Noctis will never come to fruition.
Square Enix also announced a standalone release for Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades on 13th December. Featuring 10 new powerful bosses for players to overcome with up to three friends, it will be free to download for Xbox One and PS4 owners of the Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades DLC.
Finally, a special Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration event will take place on 13th December, allowing players to unlock special Final Fantasy XIV-themed costumes. Introducing a new quest called “Adventurer from Another World”, the event will see Noctis travelling to Perpetouss Keep with Migo’te Y’jhimei, and eventually face off in battle with Final Fantasy XIV Online‘s Garuda. The event will be available for all Final Fantasy XV players via a free update.
