Extra! Extra! Read all about it! There were a couple of fun and exciting Overwatch announcements at Blizzcon 2018!
One of the cool things featured at Blizzcon was the release of McCree’s animated short, Reunion. The animation is based on the Route 66 map and shows McCree innocently eating an apple pie when a derailed train forces him out of his seat.
Who is it that interrupts his lovely dessert?
None other then Ashe, or Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe, a member of the Deadlock Gang accompanied by the gang themselves. Ashe was revealed as Overwatch‘s next hero, making her 29th on the ever-growing roster. Her abilities have been fully revealed and here’s what players can look forward to:
- The Viper: This is Ashe’s semi-automatic rifle which fires in quick bursts. She can also aim down The Viper’s sights for more precision and more damage.
- Dynamite: Ashe is able to throw dynamite that will detonate after a short period of time, but will explode upon being shot. This will light enemies on fire for briefly dealing damage over time.
- Coach Gun: This blasts enemies, knocking them away and propelling Ashe backwards. This helps to keep her agile and mobile.
- B.O.B: Ashe’s ultimate ability is called B.O.B. Using this ultimate summons Ashe’s faithful omnic companion B.O.B who rushes forward knocking enemies into the air, much like Winston’s ultimate ability, but B.O.B can also lay down suppressing fire with his arm cannons.
PC players should expect Ashe on the PTR (Public Test Region) sometime soon to try out the new hero for themselves. Ashe’s official release has yet to be announced.
