Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to Change Controversial DLC

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

After a bad backlash from fans, Ubisoft is fixing a past issue that forced Assassin’s Creed Odyssey players into a particular plot development.

To the relief of many, Ubisoft is officially changing the ending of their Shadow Heritage DLC. In the original ending your character has a child in a heterosexual relationship. This was upsetting to players that had played their Kassandra or Alexios as LGBTQ or played them as having no interest in relationships at all.

In a production update, Ubisoft will be changing a cut scene and dialogue choices in the second episode for players looking for a non-romantic storyline or players that aren’t interesting in a heterosexual relationship. Ubisoft will also be looking into the next episode, Bloodline, to be sure a similar issue does not arise again.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey got some great review scores last year, but the romancing options felt pointless especially after what happens in the DLC. Players are excited to hear that Ubisoft is making the change and will look out to make sure something similar doesn’t happen in the future.
