Song of Memories, the romantic visual novel with rhythm-action elements that proved to be a hit in Japan, now has a PS4 release date. But there’s also bad news for those who were waiting for it to come to Switch.
Tasking you with finding your soulmate amidst the outbreak of an apocalyptic virus that’s sweeping across the world, Song of Memories will arrive on PS4 on 1st February. Alongside the standard edition of the game there’ll also be an Encore Edition, featuring a collector’s box, an art book, a four disc CD soundtrack collection and more. The Encore Edition of Song of Memories is available to preorder now exclusively at the Rice Digital Store.
Unfortunately, the Switch version of Song of Memories has had to be cancelled due to development complications. No further details have been given as to what those complications are.
While the news that a Switch version of Song of Memories will no longer be making its way to the west, at least the game is still on track for release on PS4. Featuring over 40 hours of voiced dialogue, Song of Memories is set to be a surprisingly dark visual novel that will defy expectations. And of course, there are multiple endings to discover depending on the choices you make throughout your story. Want a glimpse of it in action? Check out the new trailer below.
