The follow-up to Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, is here – and it’s the end of the world.
Never fear, though: humanity might be on its last legs, but there’s still plenty of weapons and ammo to go around. For the times you’re short, though, or just want to cause a distraction without doing too much damage, you can always throw a rock.
Rocks in Far Cry New Dawn are unlimited. You don’t need to find them or equip them; your character simply has an endless supply of them. Here’s how to throw rocks in Far Cry New Dawn, and when you might want to use it.
How to throw a rock in Far Cry New Dawn
Throwing rocks is pretty simple. Holding down your left trigger (LT/L2) will aim down the sights of your equipped weapon, but it will also bring up some extra options, which you’ll see come up on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you can issue commands to your buddy – and you can also throw a rock.
While holding down your left trigger, use your gun’s reticle to aim by moving the right stick. Once you’re pointing in the direction you want to lob your rock, simply press down on the d-pad, and you’ll launch that stone in the direction your weapon is aiming. It’s as simple as that. You can repeat as many times as you like, as you’ll never run out of rocks.
When to throw rocks in Far Cry New Dawn
There’s a couple of reasons you might want to throw rocks. At the beginning of the game, you’ll find yourself without a weapon for a short period, so it’s a good way to arm yourself in an emergency.
You can also throw rocks as a means to distract enemies, or inflict minor damage should you run out of ammo and other throwable weapons. It’s not an advised tactic in the long run, but as a back up, it’s nice to know that you always have a stone to toss.
