An agent can’t get far without useful tools.
As fun as it is punching enemies in Crackdown 3, you’re not going to get very far if that’s how you approach it. Also, your starting gun quickly becomes not entirely suited to the task of freeing New Providence when mechs and shielded enemies show up. Basically, you’re going to need to expand your arsenal.
Acquiring new guns is pretty easy in Crackdown 3. You essentially just take them from your enemies after you’ve obliterated them. For the first few hours of Crackdown 3, check the weapons laying on the floor after every big battle – you might just find a weapon that you’ve not used yet. Standard firearms have a blue ring around them, while explosive weapons have a yellow ring. Any weapon that you pick up that hasn’t already been added to the agency vault will then be available for selection from a supply point from that point on.
Eventually, new weapons from enemies will become few and far between. In fact, there are certain weapons that enemies will never carry. A small number of them are unlocked by levelling up your agent’s firearms and explosives skills. Many are unlocked by finding them out in the world.
As you explore New Providence, you’ll see small white triangles pop up on your minimap. Those are agency support pods. Some offer ammo to keep you in the fight, while others offer weapons, including grenades. It’s wise to check out any agency pods when you’re close to them to expand your arsenal. When they’re near, your heads-up display will indicate what type of weapon they offer.
Following our advice, you’ll have a vast arsenal of weapons in Crackdown 3 in no time. Just remember to visit supply points to equip your favourites to your loadout.
