I didn’t think much to MX vs ATV All Out when it was released last year.
In my review of the game, in which I awarded it a paltry 4/10, I derided its useless stunt system, awful performance and general lack of polish. There were some things that I quite liked about it though, which is why I’m glad the game is receiving some more attention for a re-release just one year later.
MX vs ATV All Out Anniversary Edition takes the original game and adds in a year’s worth of tweaks alongside three servings of DLC. It’ll be priced at £25.99/$29.99. But will it offer a remarkably improved gaming experience? I hope so.
The DLC included in MX vs ATV All Out Anniversary Edition amounts to 14 additional tracks and new Freeride content. The Ricky Carmichael Farm – GOAT, for instance, offers new Supercross, Opencross, Waypoint, and Nationals tracks as well as new Freeride trials. In contrast, Slash’s Snakepit and Hometown MX Nationals don’t offer quite as much, but add more variety to the MX vs ATV All Out experience nonetheless.
So, if you don’t already own MX vs ATV All Out, look out for MX vs ATX All Out Anniversary Edition when it launches on 12th March for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Or at least keep an eye out for reviews to see if it is actually improved or not. Fingers crossed!
