ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove pits you against Earth’s worst. Find out how to fight back against these enemies.
ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove has you crash landing on Earth, only to find that there are all manner of humans who wish to do your four alien protagonists harm. The snag is that your characters don’t have any attack moves, but there are ways to see your enemies off.
Firstly, you can hire an opera singer. She tends to appear in every third level so if you go up to her, you’ll be given the option to pay her and she’ll then follow you around, killing enemies with her powerful voice.
Secondly, you can get a slingshot. You’ll mostly find these in presents, which are themselves randomised and hidden or scattered round the levels. But if you get one you can hit enemies nearby. The tomatoes fly straight but you need to be fairly close to your foes and some take more than one hits.
Thirdly, there’s another present which will summon up a tomato shower, which will then pelt all enemies in the area for a short period of time.
There are other methods but all, including the above, have a limited duration. Once this happens, you’re best off just heading to a sunflower patch. Your character will automatically hide and any enemies following you will lose interest.
It turns out that humans were the monsters the whole time. Where’s Rod Serling when you need him?
