Have you bought Mortal Kombat 11 and noticed that, despite being featured in a trailer for the game, Frost is missing from the character select screen?
Here’s how to get her.
Last playable in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Frost is a former member of Sub Zero’s Lin-Kuei ninja clan who’s now more machine than woman. In order to unlock her as a fighter, you need to complete Chapter Four of Mortal Kombat 11’s story mode.
But there’s a snag. You can only unlock Frost if you complete that chapter while you’re connected to Mortal Kombat 11’s online servers. Once she’s unlocked, you can play as her offline, disconnected from the network, but you need to be online to get her as a fighter.
But if you’ve already completed Chapter 4 offline, don’t despair – you don’t need to start from the beginning. Just go online, to the “Chapter Select” part of the story menu and select the final fight in Chapter 4. Complete that chapter, while connected, and you’ll get Frost.
If you’re finding the story mode fights tricky, you can start again and set the difficulty to Very Easy, and you can also skip fights by pausing the game (menu on the Xbox One) and selecting “skip”.
If you’re really in a hurry, you can pay to unlock her by buying her – she costs just under £5. But given it’ll only take you around 30 minutes to unlock her normally (if you skip cutscenes), why bother?
