Mortal Kombat 11 has a lot of currencies.
Some of them are self explanatory, like Easy Fatality tokens. Others, such a Time Krystals, however, might leave you scratching your head.
Like most of Mortal Kombat 11‘s currencies, Time Krystals can be earned by just simply playing the game. You get them through the simple process of levelling up, completing challenges and using the Krypt, although you’ll find that the number of Time Krystals you own will only ever creep up. In other words, the game’s not generous with them. But what are they used for?
Unlocking cosmetic customisation items is what Time Krystals allow you to do in Mortal Kombat 11. You can unlock new gear with them, as well as taunts and other none status-changing items. Though they’re not necessary to unlock them – all cosmetic items found in Mortal Kombat 11 can be unlocked by simply playing the game. It would just take you a hell of a lot of time to do so.
Time Krystals, then, are meant to expedite the process of unlocking the cosmetic items you actually want. Although the slow speed you acquire them means it still wont be a very fast process. If you’re rich and don’t mind forking out yet more money on a game you’ve already spent a considerable sum on, you can buy Time Krystals on the PlayStation, Xbox One, Nintendo and PC online stores, but it’s costly.
For most players, Time Krystals will be something they just have to grind out. They’re not entirely necessary to enjoy Mortal Kombat 11, but those who like to customise their characters will like a decent supply of them. There’s always a chance that the game’s developer, NetherRealm Studios, will increase the number of Time Krystals given to you as you play Mortal Kombat 11 though. Keep your fingers crossed, eh?
