When you start playing Mortal Kombat 11, you might notice two blacked-out characters that you can’t select on its character select screen.
One of those is Shao Kahn, the Konqueror of Outworld who has been the final boss of multiple Mortal Kombat games in the past. And we imagine you’ll want to unlock him.
The good news is that if you preordered Mortal Kombat 11 you should have access to him for free. If you bought the game physically there should either be a download code in the box or printed on your receipt. Simply redeem it on the store appropriate for your format and away you go. Meanwhile, those who preordered the game digitally should find that they already own him.
If you’ve redeemed your DLC code or preordered the game digitally and still can’t access Shao Kahn in-game, make sure you have him downloaded. On Xbox One, for example, move to the Mortal Kombat 11 tile in your library, press the menu button, and then select Manage Game. On the top left-hand side, you should be able to see if there’s any DLC for the game that you haven’t got installed. If it’s not installed, set it downloading from there. If you’re playing on another format, check out this handy guide for instructions on how to install the content.
Players who haven’t preordered Mortal Kombat 11 will unfortunately have to purchase Shao Kahn before they can use him. He’s available to buy for £4.79/$5.99.
