George R.R. Martin Has Consulted on a Video Game

For some time now, a rumour has been flying around that George R.R. Martin has been working with FromSoftware on a new video game.

We don’t know if its true, or if it’s Game of Thrones related, but what we now do know is that he has indeed consulted on a video game with a Japanese developer.

On his blog, George R.R. Martin posted an entry in which he muses about the multiple TV series he currently has in development with HBO, some others elsewhere, and the fact that he still has some books to finish. He notes that some have “nothing whatsoever to do with the world of Westeros”, and then nonchalantly drop the news that he’s “consulted on a video game out of Japan”.

Is it a collaboration with FromSoftware, or is George in cahoots with another Japanese developer? We honestly don’t know at this point, but we’re excited to find out. Previous Game of Thrones games haven’t been great, to be honest, so we’d love to see one actually do well. Though whatever he’s consulted on might not end up having anything to with Westeros at all. Hopefully more will be revealed at this year’s E3.
