A Plague Tale: Innocence‘s main character, Amicia, is armed with nothing but a slingshot.
But as you can see early on from the game’s inventory wheel, there are plenty of gaps to add new skills and ammo types. How do you unlock these?
As the game starts, you’ll be introduced to Amicia’s slingshot skill. At first, the only thing she can equip is a rock. You can fire it from your slingshot, or quietly throw it from your hand. Soon after, a vase will also be added to the inventory wheel; letting you throw it a short distance to distract a nearby enemy.
Although A Plague Tale: Innocence‘s skills and upgrade system seems a little RPG-like in its nature, everything that gets added to your inventory wheel is driven by the story. You can’t get new skills or new types of throwables until the narrative dictates. So you’ll just have to be patient and keep playing with the equipment you’ve got.
New skills unlock at a fair pace, though, so before long Amicia will have a veritable arsenal of interesting tools and ammo at her disposal. Just make sure to keep stocked up on crafting materials so you can always make new ammo in a pinch.
