If you’re thinking of picking up Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, one question you might have is whether or not you can play the game in split screen.
It’s a good question: most kart racing games support four local players, but does Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled? The answer is both yes and no.
While Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has an adventure mode like Team Sonic Racing, unfortunately it is strictly a single player affair. There are multiple event types in Local Battle mode that do support split screen local multiplayer for up to four players, however.
By heading into Local Battle mode from the main menu, players are able to set up a Single Race, a Cup Race or a Battle for up to four players. You’ll of course need multiple controllers, and a TV big enough so that each player can see what’s happening. The settings can be tweaked in each of those modes, too.
Of course, you don’t need to get your friends around to play Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled with them – the game also has online play. There are numerous benefits to playing the game online, such as earning more coins to spend in the Pit Stop, and having a full screen to yourself. Each player will need their own copy of the game though, and also a subscription to their format’s online service.
