If you want unlock everything that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has to offer, you’re going to need to a lot of coins.
Coins are a currency in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and you can spend them by visiting the Pit Stop on the game’s main menu. In the Pit Stop you’ll find an assortment of characters, vehicle parts, skins and customisation items that change on a regular basis.
To get coins you simply need to play the game. Upon starting Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled‘s adventure mode you’ll gain 2,000 coins to get you going, but from that point on coins need to be earned. Coming first in an event will net you the most coins, but just finishing an event lets you have a large chunk of what’s available.
As you play through Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, however, you’ll notice that some tracks seem to give you more coins than other, and that’s because they’re split into tiers. There are four tiers, enabling you obtain a maximum of 20, 40, 60 and 80 coins for winning. Typically, the harder the track the higher the tier, but it appears that the tiers are sometimes shifted around a little to keep things interesting.
Multiplayer is the way to go
Playing online is undoubtedly the best way to obtain coins in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Taking part in online races will earn you ten times as many coins, allowing you to quickly amass them. If you play the game regularly online you should get enough coins to unlock a large amount of the game’s Pit Stop content without much trouble.
Players have also noticed that more coins are awarded just after the Pit Stop refreshes its content. So, if you start playing the game and notice that you’re obtaining more coins than usual, make the most of it!
Also, a word of warning: Coins cannot be earned while cheats are active. If you want to earn coins, disable cheats by reloading your game from the load/save menu. And if you play in local multiplayer, only the person who starts the game is awarded coins.
