If you want to fully complete Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, you need to get through the corridor full of spikes in the Dian Cecht Cathedral.
On your way to obtaining Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night‘s true ending, getting through the spiked hallway is a necessity, but you need to do some legwork first.
First you need to have beaten the boss in Dian Cecht Cathedral to obtain the Craftwork shard. That allows you to move the iron maiden that blocks access to the corridor. After that, you need to progress through the game until you reach the Inferno Cave. Just doing that is a task in itself though, as you’ll need to be able to walk underwater to reach it.
Once you’ve reached the Inferno Cave, beating the boss there will enable you to invert gravity, allowing you to obtain the item you need to walk through spikes unharmed. Teleport over to the Towers of Twin Dragons and take the lift down to the bottom level. When you enter the area where you fought the Twin Dragon boss, stand in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and invert gravity. You should find some spikes and a chest sitting upside down on a ledge. Jump up to the ledge and invert gravity again to be able to open it. Inside is the Aegis Plate.
Equipping the Aegis Plate allows you to walk though hazards without taking a scratch. So put it on and you’ll be able to walk through the spikes with any issues. You can then access the Oriental Sorcery Lab which is pivotal to viewing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night‘s true ending.
