Mario and Sonic Are Heading Back to the Olympics in November

Jump some hurdles, throw some discs and run like you’ve never run before when Mario & Sonic join the Olympics once again.

Have you ever wanted to see what Luigi looks like in shorts? Well neither did I, but it’s burned into my retinas forever so I thought I’d pass it on. SEGA and Nintendo are back together again with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020, coming later this year, exclusively to Nintendo Switch.

This time around the game will feature fan-favourite sports and lots of playable characters from both franchises as well as four brand new Olympic events: surfing, skateboarding, karate and sport climbing.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will have split-screen and online multiplayer as well as full motion controls with the Joy-cons. The characters revealed so far in the game include: Mario (in shorts), Sonic, Luigi (in shorts), Knuckles, Peach (she’s in shorts too), Amy, Dr. Eggman (oh my, are those spandex pants?), Yoshi and Tails. More characters will be announced at a later date.

Look out for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 when it launches this November. In the meantime, you can watch the E3 reveal trailer below.
