If you’re a fan of Attack on Titan, you’ve no doubt slashed plenty of colossal giants yourself in Koei Tecmo’s games based on the franchise. But this July, the guns finally come out.
Koei Tecmo has revealed the new battle options available to players in Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, which will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on 5th July. In addition to the traditional Slashing Gear, players will now also be able to don Shooting Gear, enabling them to take down Titans at a distance.
Numerous ammo types will be available, including Regular Shot, Scatter Shot, Explosive Shot, Attrition Shot, Numbing Shot and Incendiary Shot. Each one will come in useful under certain circumstances. You’re able to replenish your ammo in the same way you can replace blades and gas, though skilled players can master the art of performing perfect reloads to get the most out of their ammo.
When standard guns and blades just aren’t enough, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle‘s Showdown Equipment aims to please. Both the Thunder Spear and Gatling Gun will decimate any Titans in their path. You need to obtain Showdown Equipment first though, and it can only be used in battle once a gauge is filled. You can witness the effects of both devastating weapons below.
Players who preorder Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle or pick it up at launch will find themselves on the receiving end of some bonuses. Additional costumes for Christa, Kenny, Levi and Mikasa are available for buying the game within the first month on all formats, while those picking up the game on PS4 will also bag themselves early access to Kenny and Zeke as playable characters. Xbox One and Switch players will need to preorder the game to unlock those two characters early, though they’ll also gain access to the long haired version of Eren early too.
