The Messenger is Getting a Free Expansion in July

A Ninja sometimes needs a break from his or her ninja activities.

Sabotage and Devolver Digital announced yesterday during the Devolver Digital E3 Press Conference that Picnic Panic, the new expansion to the retro platformer The Messenger will be arriving on July 11th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The Messenger tells the story of a young ninja who ventures through a cursed world to deliver a scroll that is needed for his clans survival.

Our reviewer Rich found The Messenger to be pretty pretty dang fun saying, “It’s funny at times, its visuals are generally a joy to behold, and its controls are tight and responsive.”

In this new expansion, you’ll be beating up squids and catching some serious air on the waves. On your trip to Voodkin Island, you’ll explore three new levels each with unique boss fights. Rainbowdragoneyes is back with 18 original tracks for this tropical adventure. Best of all? It’s completely free for anyone who owns the game.
